The City of Bradford Festival of Talent 2016 -17

Bfd City of Talent

Following on from the amazing results and success of the Lady Mayoress Festival of Talent and the subsequent Lord Mayor’s Festival of Talent, we are excited by the decision to run this event once again under the title “The City of Bradford Festival of Talent”.

BUT to do this, we need your help. We need your amazing students to get involved

The Competition, which is free to enter, is aimed at all primary and secondary schools throughout the Bradford Metropolitan District, with semi-finals – (auditions) – and finals held next February and March respectively.  (Friday 3rd February and Friday 10th March, 2017).

There is an amazing wealth of talent within our schools and it’s my mission to seek it out and give it a platform.  We want dancers, singers, instrumentalists, comedians, illusionists, magicians, soloists, duos, choirs, groups, bands….  You get the picture.  This year we will have more defined sections in the competition for all the different disciplines.

The spirit of the Festival is that it must be Student led, therefore the only stipulation is that all performances must originate from the performers themselves and not be created by teachers or parents.

The time-line will be much as before with heats taking place within the schools, (at your own in-house Talent Competitions, for example), thus creating the semi-finalists, who will go on to perform in the Auditions on Friday 3rd February.

The Finals will be held on Thursday 10th March and will be as “showbizzy” as we can make them, with the winners in both age groups taking part in the prestigious Schools’ Prom organised by the Music and Arts Service at the end of March as part of their prize.

Full details of the City of Bradford Festival of Talent are posted on the new City of Bradford Festival of Talent website, so why not take a look at: http://bfdfestivaloftalent.weebly.com/
