Rotary Club of Keighley Young Musician Competition

The 2016-2017 Rotary Club of Keighley Young Musician competition will be held at Keighley Shared Church (close to the Market) on Saturday, 26th November 2016, starting with the youngest age group at 2.00 pm.

Last year, there were a large number of entries in the lowest age group. Because of that, we have adjusted the age groups and they will now be: 12 and under, 13 to 15, and 16 to 18. All ages as at 31st August 2017. The increase in the number of contestants over the years means that we may have to limit the number of entries accepted.

All performers are free to have an accompaniment; however, performers must provide their own accompanist.  If this is likely to present a problem, please contact us in good time and we will TRY to make an arrangement for you.  We cannot guarantee anything, and there may be a charge; but we will do our best.  No recorded accompaniments will be allowed.  There is a free choice of music and each performer should choose a piece lasting not more than 5 minutes.  A copy of the music performed must be submitted to the judges and may be collected after the competition.  All participants will be awarded a certificate and the winners of each age category will receive a cash prize.

Please encourage your talented instrumental and vocalist students to take part this year.  The standard was very high last year and a number of schools were well represented.

Completed entry forms should be returned to
