Physical band rehearsals are normally term-time only – Monday – 4.30 – 6pm  at Titus Salt School


The Bradford Youth Brass Band is an exciting brass and percussion ensemble conducted by Morgan Griffiths the musical director of the famous Hammonds Band.

The band play a very wide range of repertoire from original brass works to popular classics and pop music. The entry level is Grade 3 ABRSM.

The band perform at concerts and competitions throughout the year in various venues from St George’s Hall, Bradford to the Symphony Hall in Birmingham.

Your child’s school will be contacted to confirm the Free School Meal status and once confirmed the free membership would last for the remainder of that academic year. This would then be reviewed in September each year.

Non-payment of any kind which results in lesson/membership being cancelled will incur a £10 admin charge for reinstatement. The Bradford Music & Arts Service would like to be able to take photographs/video footage/audio of your child to use within the remit of Service activities. The Music & Arts Service operates under Bradford Council. Images/video footage may be used by the Music & Arts Service and Bradford Council to share performances/work undertaken by your child, for publicity and advertising materials, including printed publications, and presentation and exhibition materials. We will use websites, social media, email and other digital communications, including online advertising. They may also be used for news media and their associated websites and social media channels including printed newspapers, magazines, television and radio. Your images/video footage and details will not be sold to a third party and will be stored up to a maximum of 5 years. This form also covers any video recordings your child makes of their playing as part of Music Centre activity. The Bradford Youth Orchestra is holding auditions for students who are Grade 5 level and above on Saturday 26 June 2021 at Titus Salt School, Higher Coach Road, Baildon, Shipley, BD17 5RH.

(please note; we do not currently have any spaces for trumpets or trombones)

The Youth Orchestra is a vibrant body of young people, and provides creative opportunities outside the normal orchestra experience. As well as our regular concerts, featuring Classical and Film music, recent projects have included working with a soul band to provide backing on their album, and taking part in a documentary. The orchestra regularly performs as part of the Music for Youth festivals, and will tour Germany in July 2022.

If you would like your son/daughter to audition for a place, please complete and return the reply slip below. Applicants will be required to perform 2 contrasting pieces and will be given a piece of sightreading.
