Normally physical rehearsals for Bradford Youth Wind Orchestra take place on Thursdays 6.30 – 8.00 pm at Titus Salt School

One of the top groups in the Bradford District, this flourishing and vibrant Wind Band gives quality training and experience to more advanced woodwind, brass and percussion young players.

Regularly performs in prestigious venues such as St. George’s Hall and Bradford Cathedral.

Takes part in Music for Youth’s Regional festival.  They deliver performances with an infectious sense of passion and pride in their music. Always of a high standard, the band is not afraid to tackle some more challenging repertoire, as well as some popular favourites. Recent repertoire includes The Lion King and Derek Bourgeois’ Seranade.

Approx. standard: Grade 4 +

Horns need to be Grade 4 standard, saxophones must be Grade 6 standard, and flutes, clarinets, trumpets and trombones must be Grade 5 standard.

The Bradford Youth Orchestra is holding auditions for students who are Grade 5 level and above on Saturday 26 June 2021 at Titus Salt School, Higher Coach Road, Baildon, Shipley, BD17 5RH.

(please note; we do not currently have any spaces for trumpets or trombones)

The Youth Orchestra is a vibrant body of young people, and provides creative opportunities outside the normal orchestra experience. As well as our regular concerts, featuring Classical and Film music, recent projects have included working with a soul band to provide backing on their album, and taking part in a documentary. The orchestra regularly performs as part of the Music for Youth festivals, and will tour Germany in July 2022.

If you would like your son/daughter to audition for a place, please complete and return the reply slip below. Applicants will be required to perform 2 contrasting pieces and will be given a piece of sightreading.
