Image result for woodwind instrumentsOne of the top groups in the Bradford District, this flourishing and vibrant Wind Band gives quality training and experience to more advanced woodwind, brass and percussion young players.

Regularly performs in prestigious venues such as St. George’s Hall and Bradford Cathedral.

Takes part in Music for Youth’s Regional festival.  They deliver performances with an infectious sense of passion and pride in their music.

Always of a high standard, the band is not afraid to tackle some more challenging repertoire, as well as some popular favourites.  Tonight’s performance will include popular themes from films  such as The Lion king, The Incredibles, Jurassic Park, The Jungle Book.  Students often go on to study music at university.

Recent repertoire includes: Young Persons Guide to John Williams and Guy Woolfenden’s Gallimaufry.

Approx. standard: Grade 4 +

Entry to BYWO is by audition.

Horns need to be Grade 4 standard, saxophones must be Grade 6 standard, and flutes, clarinets, trumpets and trombones must be Grade 5 standard.
