  • Group enables students to meet different people from different schools and make new friends
  • Playing in the band allows them to develop all aspects of their playing
  • Play a wide variety of music and the band has particularly enjoyed playing music from James Bond

Many students are also very involved in their school groups and love their playing.

The rehearsals are great fun and students play musical games to help them develop different areas of their playing.  Watching them turn up each week with a new stride of confidence is great. This confidence is also portrayed through their playing.

The two groups enjoy working together and coming to play in these groups adds a fantastic social interaction to their musical journey.  Having pupils with talent and enthusiasm is what makes bands thrive.

When pupils reach a high enough standard (approx.. Grade 5), they move up into the Bradford Youth Wind Orchestra, the highest wind group in Bradford. Many pupils also audition for the Bradford Youth Orchestra, which is the highest standard group in the District.

Recent repertoire includes: Theme from Harry Potter, Doctor Who theme, Mamma Mia

Approx. standard: Grade 2-4
