Punjabi Roots Academy

Punjabi Roots Academy offer a wide range of Indian creative arts and music workshops along with professional performances, here they can offer a range of interactive and engaging workshops which can be a ‘taster session’ or even a series of sessions leading up to a grand performance.
The types of sessions are:

  • Assembly’s
  • End of year performances
  • Breakfast – Lunch – After School
  • Clubs
  • Holiday Clubs
  • Transitional Activity Day
  • Festivals, and
  • Celebrations

One of their most popular sessions is Indian Dhol Drumming workshops, however, they have now also expanded into other Punjabi Musical Instruments, Indian Classical Musical Instruments and something that is completely new is Punjabi DJing and East meets West Music Production sessions. Punjabi Roots Academy are keen to help schools set up their own Radio and TV stations with their experts.

They are also keen to take students on work experience and also to visit/view mainstream shows, from Weddings to Festivals to Corporate Events to name but a few.

Kala Sangam

Kala Sangam is an intercultural arts centre which aims to reflect the diversity of contemporary Britain through the work they present, the artists they support and the communities they engage.

Specialising in South Asian arts and culture, most of their work takes place in their Arts Centre in the heart of Bradford (in between Bradford Cathedral and The Broadway Shopping Centre) with outreach activities extending nationally and internationally.

Kala Sangam present two seasons of performance each year with a specialism in music and dance. They deliver activity in schools and music workshops for adults and young people.

They present music performances, offer music lessons and workshops for schools and communities, and provide talent development support across the professional arts sector.

Hammonds Band

– To be of pleasure and assistance to the local and wider community.

– To provide the opportunity for members to experience the enjoyment of making music and the pleasure of each others company socially

– To encourage, teach and develop young people both musically and socially.

– To ensure the continuance of brass banding and, more widely, music in general in and around West Yorkshire

– Providing tuition workshops on an as needed basis

– The opportunity to perform to wider audiences at some of their concerts

– Passing on their collective musical skills and knowledge to help with the future sustainability of amateur music making
