Linking Schools

Building on elements of  the music curriculum we would like to offer a new KS1 performance.

Only £150 for the whole of Year 1 and Year 2.

A young girl journeys in search of her piano’s missing middle ‘C’ lost in transit during a house move.

Placing a specially constructed piano at the centre of the classroom, it encourages students to play, understand  and respond to music, enhancing both language and listening skills through a playful and magical story.

Half a day includes a 45 minute performance and accompanying workshop (s) with free follow up resources.

Brought to you by Leeds International Piano Competition, Manic Chord and Bradford Music Education Hub with support from Emerald Foundation.

The initial development and implementation of Skylar’s Missing Note was funded by Leeds Music Education Partnership. This collaboration and support enabled the creative development of the piece and ensured curriculum learning is embedded within the performance and resources.

Book now for 2 March – 18 March 2020 as there is limited availability to 12 schools only!

If you would like to book this unique and impactful project for your pupils, please email two preferred dates between 2 and 18 March as soon as possible.

The Music & Arts Service is not responsible for booking applicants for this project.

Ten Things Schools Should Know About Music

Bradford Music & Arts Service are working in collaboration with The Linking Network to help develop the music curriculum in linking schools and support schools to connect through music. Below are links for the ten Linking Schools songs, each with instructions on how to use the files.  Our website also contains lots of other school resources and information about CPD and events, many of them free, so take a minute to have a look about.  Please also have a look on our Primary Music Network Meetings page for lots of resources and information specific to the primary phase.
